We are excited to announce that Dr. Lucio N. Gordan is our New Member Highlight this month!
Dr. Lucio Gordan graduated from medical school at the State University of Londrina College of Medicine in Brazil. Following this, he completed his Internship and Residency at the University of Iowa. In 2003, he completed his Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Gordan is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Gordan practices medicine at the Gainesville Cancer Center, serving on the Florida Cancer Specialists Executive Board, American Oncology Network (AON) Executive Board, Florida Association of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) Executive Committee, Community Oncology Alliance (COA) Board of Directors, and is the head of Quality and Medical Informatics at Florida Cancer Specialists. Also, he serves as the Oncology Advisor/Leadership at North Florida Regional Medical Center (HCA), and consults for International Oncology Network (ION), IntrinsiQ in clinical affairs and analytics.
Dr. Gordan has received several grants for research, published articles in peer reviewed journals and, in 2013, he was awarded the prestigious FRIST Award from HCA in recognition of his service in the community and North Florida Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Gordan is married and has one child. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, horseback riding, photography and playing tennis. We look forward to his future involvement in the Alachua County Medical Society-welcome!

Dr. Ann Hatfield is the newest member of the long-established North Florida Women’s Physicians. She graduated with a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and then attended Duke University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine—Jacksonville, where she was Administrative Chief Resident her final year.
She is very excited about facilitating the design and construction of the new office building that NFWP will be opening in late 2018. The 21,000 square-foot, 2-story building will have state of the art facilities, including space for in-office surgery and public meeting areas. Additionally, there will be a 3,300 square-foot birthing center on campus that will provide an alternative safe environment for low-risk obstetrical patients to deliver.
